Events

The Society holds six dinner meetings between September and June.  To date, the Society has established that three of these meetings are dedicated to specific subjects, as follows:

The Alan B. Gold Advocacy Lecture
In honour of former Chief Justice Alan B. Gold. As its title implies, this lecture is devoted to the art of advocacy.

The Henry Steinberg Memorial Lecture
The second meeting of each year is named in memory of the late Henry Steinberg, a Justice of the Court of Appeal.  The theme of this lecture has generally been ethics and/or Jewish content.

The Human Rights Lecture
The third meeting, the Human Rights Lecture is delivered by the recipient of the Society’s Human Rights Award, which is granted.

In addition to the dinner-meetings, the Society regularly holds Young Bar Cocktail so that our junior members may meet in an informal atmosphere.
