About Us

The Lord Reading Law Society was founded in 1948 to promote the interests of Jewish members of the Quebec Bar.

The focus of the Society’s activities is the speakers’ program. On six occasions per year, our speakers address the Society on matters of professional, topical and cultural interest.

We have established prizes to recognize contributions to the advancement of fundamental rights and freedoms.  As well, we annually award three prizes for academic achievement to law students.

Perhaps most significantly, we provide a forum for fellowship and the exchange of ideas amongst our members and encourage their participation in the broader legal community.

We hope that you enjoy reading about our past, present and future activities.
