Please join the Lord Reading Law Society as we celebrate our 70th anniversary and confer an honourary lifetime membership on The Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, PC CC CStJ, the 17th Chief Justice of Canada. Madam Justice McLachlin was the first woman to hold this position and was the longest serving Chief Justice of Canada.
In addition to receiving an honourary lifetime membership from the Society, Madam Justice McLachlin will address the audience, on the topic of “Living with Diversity.” Her talk will discuss:
Diversity is not an idealistic notion but a reality that can present unique challenges. The heart of the issue is how to deal with diversity in our everyday lives. The Right Honourable Justice McLachlin, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, will provide her thoughts on the issues of diversity that she experienced at the courts and that currently face Canadians.
