Events
The Society holds five dinner meetings between September and June.
The Society has established that three of these meetings are dedicated to specific subjects, as follows:
The Alan B. Gold Advocacy Lecture
In honour of former Chief Justice Alan B. Gold. As its title implies, this lecture is devoted to the art of advocacy.
The Henry Steinberg Memorial Lecture
This lecture is named in memory of the late Henry Steinberg, a Justice of the Court of Appeal. The theme of this lecture has generally been ethics and/or Jewish content.
The Human Rights Dinner
The Human Rights Dinner occurs annually and focuses on human rights at home and abroad. On special occasions, the Society also grants the Human Rights Award to a worthy recipient, who may also be the featured speaker for the evening.
In addition to the dinner-meetings, the Society regularly holds Young Bar events so that our junior members may meet in an informal atmosphere. The Society also hold Members-only CLE events for our members to receive Continuing Legal Education for the Barreau and the Chambre des Notaires.
